How do I update my username?
HCPForum is a professional platform and we encourage you to create a username that is your name, an abbreviated version of it, or a professional nickname .
If you would like to change your username, please send your preferred username to firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I update my email address?
On the web, select your profile icon and select Preferences. Edit your email address and select Update, at the bottom.
How do I fill in my Profile?
Filling in your bio gives people more information about your background and experience.
On the web, open your profile page and select Edit Profile. Here, you can add your name, location, years of experience, workplace, and any other relevant information. Scroll to the bottom and click Save to save all changes or Cancel to revert the changes.
How do I add or remove a practice area or interest?
Currently, practice areas and interests can only be added or removed. To add practice areas or interests to your profile, open your profile and select Edit . Scroll to the bottom of this screen and select Add Practice Areas or Interests. You can choose a category from the list or search for a specific category by entering it in the search bar. Tap the box to the right of a category to select your Practice Area or Interest. Tap Done to accept your changes or Back to cancel.
To remove a practice area or interest, open your profile and select . Tap the X right of a category and then tap Done to accept your changes.
What is Engagement Index?
Engagement Index highlights engaged members of the HCPFORUM community. When you share clinical knowledge or any healthcare related information, you provide learning opportunities for your colleagues and increase your engagement index. You can increase your score by filling out your profile information, contributing cases, and sharing comments. This feature is currently not available. Once we start ,members will be eligible for engagement index, members will be able find their rating on their profile.
How do I reset my password?
If you need to reset your password, select the Forgot Password link on the login screen and enter the email associated with your Hcpforum account. Password reset instructions will be emailed to you. You will be asked to follow the link provided, where you will then enter your new password.
You can also change your password from within the app. Open your profile, tap the gear icon, and select Reset Password.
How do I customize the notifications I receive?
Push notifications are the best way to stay updated on cases you’ve shared and other cases you are following. To customize your notification settings, open your profile and tap the gear icon. Tap Notification Settings and select the notification settings you prefer.
How do I delete my account?
Deleting your account is permanent. To delete your account, go to your profile, tap the gear icon, then tap and hold the Logout button until you see a prompt to delete your account. If you have already deleted the HCPFORUM from web app, please contact us.
If you would also like to stop receiving our emails, please unsubscribe your email address before deleting your account. To unsubscribe on the web, go to your profile, select Preferences and then Email Preferences. Select Uncheck All at the bottom of the page and then select Update email preferences.
What is verification?
Verification establishes your credibility by signalling to the community that our team has confirmed your status as a licensed healthcare professional or healthcare student. Verified healthcare professionals and students can be identified by the checkmark badge next to their usernames.
How do I become Verified?
Becoming Verified is a simple process. When you register for an account on HCPFORUM, you can fill out a short form which asks for the location of your license, your full name, and your institutional email address. Our team will use this information to look up your license in a publicly available database. If you are a student, you will be asked to submit your name, school, institutional email address, and expected date of graduation. Any information submitted for verification remains private and is only used by our verification team.
Can I become Verified without an institutional email address?
In the absence of an institutional email address, we can accept a photo of you holding your workplace, student, or government-issued photo ID. We require this to make sure that the person requesting verification is really you. This information remains private and is only viewed by our verification team.
Why isn’t verification available for my country or specialty?
We are always working to expand our verification program to include more specialties and more countries. If you have suggestions on how we can confirm medical licenses in your country, please contact us.
How do I contribute to the discussion?
If you would like to provide feedback or ask questions about a case, select the Discuss button and then tap Post or Submit in Web once you’re satisfied with your comment. You can modify comments you’ve already posted by tapping Edit below the comment or the ellipsis . After making your changes, tap Edit or Post to save. To delete a comment, tap the ellipsis in the bottom right corner of your comment and select Delete.
How do I like a comment and why?
If you think a comment is correct or builds a useful clinical dialogue, you can like it by selecting Like below the comment. To reverse the action, tap Unlike.
What is an Accepted Answer?
The Accepted Answer is the comment that has been selected as the best answer to the case. This is selected by the person who shared the case. Accepted answers are displayed directly below the case description.
Can I send a case to someone outside of the HCPFORUM community?
You can send links to cases you see on HCPFORUM to your colleagues or classmates. To do so, select the arrow icon below the image. You can send a case via email, iMessage, Facebook, Twitter, or WhatsApp. You can also copy the link if you would prefer to paste it elsewhere. Please note it is a violation of our Terms of Service to screenshot any cases on HCPFORUM.
How do I follow a person or case, and what happens when I do?
To stay updated on a case of interest, select the pulse icon below the caption. You will receive notifications when someone comments on the case.
You can also follow other healthcare professionals on HCPFORUM to receive notifications when they share or comment on a case. There are a few ways to follow someone. The first is to select his or her username and then tap or click the Follow button on their profile. You can also search for someone to Follow. Select their username and then tap or click the Follow button on their profile. The Follow button is also available on every case on HCPFORUM. Select Follow beside the username to follow that person and select it a second time to unfollow that person.
How do I find specific cases on HCPFORUM?
Cases shared on HCPFORUM are categorized by anatomy and specialty. You can find all the categories by tapping the Search icon. When sharing a case, make sure to accurately categorize the post so that it’s discoverable for other healthcare professionals. To find specific cases, you can enter a medical term or condition in the search bar.
How do I report an inappropriate comment?
If you believe a comment isn’t in line with our Community Guidelines, we encourage you to report it. To report a comment, tap the ellipsis icon below the comment and select the Report option. Then, select the description that best explains why you have chosen to report this comment. This will immediately remove the comment while a member of our team reviews it.
How do I report a case?
If you believe a case isn’t in line with our Community Guidelines, we encourage you to report it. To report a case, select the arrow in the top right corner of the case and tap Report Case. This will bring you to a screen that outlines when a case should be reported. Enter your reason and select Report. This will immediately remove the case while a member of our team reviews it.
What are collections?
Use the collections feature to organize cases you’d like to refer back to. You can find your saved collections on your HCPFORUM profile.
How do I create a new collection?
Tap Save below the caption of the case you want to start a new collection with
Tap Create new collection and then create a title
Tap Create in the top right corner to save the new collection, or go back to cancel without saving
How do I add cases to a collection?
Tap Save below the caption of the case you want to save. Select a collection from your list, and it will save to that collection automatically.
How do I remove a case from my collection?
Open your collections on your profile page and select the collection you’d like to update. Next, swipe left on the case(s) you’d like to delete. Tap Remove to confirm, or Cancel to go back without deleting.
How do I edit a collection?
To edit a collection, open the Saved tab on your profile page and select the collection you’d like to make changes to. Next, tap the ellipsis in the top right corner and select Edit to change the collection’s title. Tap Save to keep the changes, or back to exit without saving.
How do I delete a collection?
To delete a collection, open the Saved tab on your profile page and select the collection you’d like to make changes to. Next, tap the ellipsis in the top right corner and select Edit. Next, select Delete collection at the bottom of the screen. Select Delete again to confirm, or Cancel to go back without deleting.
If I share a case to HCPFORUM, how is it used?
When you share a case to HCPFORUM, it can be viewed and commented on by all the members of the HCPFORUM community. Cases that you share may be featured in emails to members of the HCPFORUM community. They may also be selected for use outside of HCPFORUM on our social media accounts in order to spread the word about HCPFORUM. Your case could also be shared with resources like medical journals and other educational sites. Should your case be selected for inclusion in a medical resource, you can choose to receive a photo credit whenever possible. Choose to receive attribution for your content in your profile settings.
How do I handle patient consent?
Can I upload promotional posts?
The cases and comments on HCPFORUM should be shared with the intent of furthering medical knowledge. Any case or comment that appears to promote a particular person, organization, product, or service will be removed. If you are interested in learning about promotional opportunities on HCPFORUM, please contact us, and we will connect you to a member of our Business Development team.
How do I share a follow-up case?
If you would like to post an update to a previous case, follow the instructions to upload a case and tap Connect your Case below the caption box. You can then choose which post you’d like to connect it to from your previously approved cases.
What happens when my case is not approved?
If your case is not in line with our Community Guidelines, our moderators will not approve it. When a case is not approved, you will receive an email explaining why. If there is a potential privacy issue with your image, your case will be immediately deleted from HCPFORUM. In some instances, if your caption lacks clinical information, it may be sent to your Drafts folder where it can be easily edited and resubmitted. The Drafts feature is currently only available on mobile.
Can HCPFORUM moderators make changes to my case for me?
HCPFORUM moderators do not alter images or captions in any way. All edits must be made by you.
What happens when my case is reported?
If your case is reported by someone, it is removed from HCPFORUM while our team of moderators reviews it. Upon review, your case may be reinstated or deleted. If your case is deleted, you will receive an email explaining why.
HOW TO SHARE A CASE
How do I share an image case?
Click the plus sign in the top right corner of the screen.
Read the Guidelines for Posting and click Agree to continue.
Click Image Case.
Drag and drop a file or browse your computer library to select images. Click Add another image to select an additional file. You can choose to add up to five images to your case.
Click the pencil on the image to edit it using the draw, crop, and face-blocking tools.
Click the checkmark to keep your changes or click the back arrow to revert your edits.
Enter your caption. Complete captions include relevant clinical information such as history, symptoms, possible treatment, or differential diagnoses.
Click Next to categorize your case by specialty and anatomy.
Click Share to post your case to HCPFORUM. Our team of moderators will review your case, and you will receive a notification when your case has been approved. If your case is not accepted, you will receive an email explaining why.
How do I share a text only case?
Click the plus sign in the top right corner of the screen.
Read the Guidelines for Posting and click Agree to continue.
Click Text Case.
Enter a title for your case in the title field.
Describe your case in as much detail as possible (max.1400 characters). Complete text cases include past medical history, current symptoms, test results, exam findings, your assessment, and current plan. You may also choose to include a question to prompt discussion or ask the community for feedback.
Categorize your case by specialty and anatomy by selecting the categories on the right side of the screen.
Click Share to post your case to HCPFORUM. Our team of moderators will review your case, and you will receive a notification when your case has been approved. If your case is not approved, you will receive an email explaining why.
An Image Stack is a set of several scans linked together in one file. Image Stacks give you the ability to scroll through several images so that they appear animated.
Export the original images to JPEG (no larger than 512 x 512 pixels).
Make sure file names are in the right order.
Compress the full set of images.
Upload the ZIP file (no larger than 20MB).
- How do I use the crop tool?
On the Edit screen, click Crop at the top of the screen. Using your cursor, expand the size of the frame by pulling the corners. Place your cursor anywhere within the frame to move it. Click Crop to accept changes or Cancel to revert back to your original image. Click the checkmark to save your changes, or click Clear All Edits to revert back to your original image.
How do I use the draw tool?
On the Edit screen, click the paintbrush at the top of the screen. Click and hold your cursor down to draw on the image. The size of the draw tool can be adjusted using the slider above the image. Click the checkmark to save your image or the back arrow to remove what you’ve drawn.
How do I remove a face block (gray box)?
If HCPFORUM automatically detects a face in your image, a gray square will block it. In some cases, the tool can detect a false positive. If you would like to remove the gray box, select the image and click Clear Edits.
- How do I delete my own case?
To delete a case you’ve shared, find the case on your profile, open the post, and select the arrow in the top right corner of the screen. When the prompt appears, select Delete.
